Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, absolutely. Thanks to our specialised conversion kits, Waveboats are compatible with almost all models from the major brands: Yamaha, Sea-Doo and Kawasaki.

  • Made to measure: Each kit is designed to fit the shape of your jet ski perfectly.
  • Upgradeable: If you change your jet ski, simply replace the kit to keep your Waveboat.
  • Quick: Installation is simple, secure and does not alter the structure of your machine.

No, absolutely not. The system is designed to protect your jet ski:

  • Total protection: The mounting kit creates a flexible and precise interface that prevents any direct contact between the jet ski’s hull and the boat’s hull.
  • Stable attachment: Once locked in place, the jet ski is perfectly secured to the Waveboat, thus preventing friction or vibrations.

It all depends on the size of your Waveboat, but here are our general recommendations:

  • WB444 range: from 100 hp up to 200 hp
  • WB525 / WBZ6 range: from 100 hp up to 300 hp
  • WB656 / WBZ7 range: from 170 hp to 325 hp
  • WBZ8 / WB777 range: from 200 hp to 325 hp

Key point: The more powerful your jet ski, the more acceleration and top speed you will retain once the boat is loaded.

Yes, in fact, that’s one of its biggest advantages. The system is designed for complete modularity:

  • Quick detachment: In under 30 seconds, you can unlock your jet ski to enjoy some solo fun.
  • Easy anchoring: The Waveboat remains stable at anchor (or with passengers on board) whilst you enjoy your jet ski in complete freedom.
  • Simplicity: The reconnection process is just as smooth, allowing you to set off again with your whole team in the blink of an eye.

Your jet ski controls everything. The Waveboat becomes an extension of your machine:

  • Direct steering: Your jet’s turbine propels and steers the entire boat with great precision.
  • Reverse function retained: Your jet’s reverse system remains 100% functional, allowing you to reverse and brake normally.
  • Exceptional manoeuvrability: Thanks to the jet’s vector thrust, the Waveboat is agile and easy to steer, even during tricky harbour manoeuvres.

In France, a licence is required, just as it is for any motorboat or jet ski:

  • Please note: If you already hold a licence for your jet ski, it is fully valid for operating the entire unit (Jet + Waveboat).

Important: The operator must be at least 16 years old.

The price depends on the model (rigid or semi-rigid hull) and the equipment chosen.

  • New (Hull only + kit):
    • 444 / 525 range: Expect to pay between €9,990 excl. VAT and €24,990 excl. VAT depending on the options.
    • 656 / Z-Line range (Z6, Z7, Z8): Prices range from €25,000 excl. VAT to over €70,000 excl. VAT for fully equipped premium models.
  • The conversion kit alone: If you are changing your jet ski, a new kit costs around €1,400 excl. VAT

Please note: These prices generally apply to the boat alone. Remember to include the cost of the jet ski and the trailer in your overall budget if you do not already own them.

In France, Waveboat registration is mandatory and is carried out as a motorised pleasure craft:

  • Separate registration: The Waveboat has its own registration certificate and its own registration number, separate from that of the jet ski.
  • Joint navigation: Once the jet ski is attached, the combination (Jet + Waveboat) is considered a single vessel.
  • Required documents: To register it with the Maritime Affairs Department, you will need the purchase invoice, the EC Declaration of Conformity, and proof of identity and address.

Please note: In France, insurance for your Waveboat is recommended. It must cover both the jet ski (in solo mode) and the Waveboat assembly when they are joined together.

No, a standard jet ski trailer is not suitable. The Waveboat requires a specialised trailer designed to accommodate its dimensions and weight:

  • Dedicated trailer: This is designed to support both the Waveboat hull and the weight of the jet ski if you choose to transport them assembled.
  • Simplified launching: These trailers have special skids that allow you to launch the whole unit in one go, or just the jet ski if you prefer.
  • Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW): in France Please ensure that your driving licence (B or B96) and your vehicle are suitable for the total weight of the combination (Boat + Jet + Trailer), which can exceed 1,500 kg on larger models.

The capacity depends on the Waveboat model chosen. It is calculated to include the jet ski pilot and their passengers:

  • 444 range: Up to 5 people.
  • 525 range: Up to 6 people.
  • 656 / Z6 range: Up to 7 people.
  • 777 / Z-Line range (Z7, Z8): Up to 8–10 people.

Important: This certification (category C) already includes passengers seated on the jet ski. Please ensure you never exceed the maximum load indicated on the manufacturer’s plate to guarantee safe navigation.
